About Us

Claire Peters - Speech Therapist

Claire Peters

BSc (Hons), regHCPC, cert RCSLT

Associate Speech and Language Therapist

I qualified from Newcastle University with a degree in Speech and Language Sciences in 2010. Since this time, I have worked both for the NHS and in independent practice with children and adults with a wide range of language and communication difficulties both locally and in the North East of England.

I am particularly passionate about supporting children in early years to reach their communicative potential and truly believe that early intervention is key in supporting long-term outcomes. I have recently trained with the Nuffield Early Language Intervention programme to support language groups in schools and love working collaboratively with parents and other professionals to ensure that your child can reach their full potential.

I have also worked with adult clients who experience acquired neurological conditions. I have postgraduate qualifications in this field, including dysphagia assessment and management and LSVT LOUD, an evidence based approach used when supporting some people with acquired conditions.

Language Therapist - Laura Newton

Laura Newton

BSc (Hons), regHCPC, cert RCSLT, MASLTIP

Director – Speech and Language Therapist

I have a clinical backdrop of over twenty years working with deaf and hearing children, having specialised in work with deaf children for the majority of this time.

I have worked, both for the NHS and within the private sector, at a Highly Specialist level. I have experience of providing support across a range of settings with children of all ages, including clients home, nurseries, community clinics, mainstream schools, colleges, a Cochlear Implant centre and specialist schools.

I strongly believe in the fundamental importance of working together with you as partners to achieve the very best outcomes for your child. I will help you to formulate a plan which meets the needs of your child, whether this be via a ‘one-off’ assessment and advice session, ad-hoc therapy sessions at home, nursery, school, a DIY programme delivered at home or school/nursery, or a period of direct regular therapy sessions.

I work alongside colleagues in health and education to provide a holistic service which is best suited to the needs of your child, with your child held at the centre of care at all times.

Kirsty Bramhall

Kirsty Bramhall

BSc (Hons), regHCPC, cert RCSLT

Associate Speech and Language Therapist

Having graduated in 1999, I have many years of experience working within the paediatric field of Speech and Language Therapy within a variety of settings supporting children, their parents and educational staff with a broad range of communication difficulties. I have worked within the NHS and private sector in the UK and Australia, developing a wide range of skills to a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist level.

I am passionate about helping children and their families gain the help and support they need for children to develop their communication skills. I have specialist interests in Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) and speech disorder/delay and am a PROMPT certified practitioner.

As a registered Elklan tutor, I have a keen interest in supporting other practitioners to support children with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) through training in speech, language and communication techniques and strategies.

As a parent of children who have had speech and language needs, I appreciate the concern that you may have about your child’s communication and will work with you to formulate the best way forward to support your child. I have worked within mainstream primary schools for many years, am familiar with systems in place for support in school and experienced in working in partnership with educational staff/settings.

background

‘Laura has only worked with our son for a few sessions and already she has given us some great strategies to use with him. Laura is very hands on and makes our son and us feels extremely comfortable. From the first meeting with Laura I knew she would be a key part of our, ‘Hearing team.’ I would highly recommend anyone looking for an excellent SLT to contact Laura. Parent, West Lancashire.
